Travel days, June 26-27

The start of a long day as we left for the airport around 9:30 am, Seattle time. Check-in was very smooth, and the United flight took off around 1 PM. The flight took ten hours to Narita Airport where we landed around 3 PM the next day (11 PM back in the US the day before), followed by customs and trading our US dollars into yen. Around 5 PM Japan time we boarded a bus for a 4+ hour ride to the city of Kofu in the Yamanashi Prefecture, west of Tokyo. It was dark when we arrived at Norii High School where we dropped off our bags at the dorm rooms and headed to an outstanding dinner at Yakinikubokuri restaurant. Slices of beef, pork and chicken along with vegetables were grilled over an open flame at our table. Around 11 PM we arrived back at the dorm where we took showers and headed off to bed after being up for about 24 hours. A long day, but a safe and good trip.
