The Washington State Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame was started in 1984 to honor the many coaches who have contributed to wrestling in the state of Washington.

The innaugural class of 1984 saw 9 members inducted into the Hall. Since then, a total of 97 coaches have been inducted into the Hall of Fame.Please take a tour of our honorees, including the members of the Hall of Fame, recipients of the Tomaras award, and the recipients of the Joe Babbit Contributors award.

 

Class of 2007 Induction Banquet
November 10, 2007 - Tacoma, WA

The Washington State Wrestling Coaches Association honored four coaches as they were inducted into the WSWCA Hall of Fame on November 10, 2007. The ceremony was held in Tacoma, WA at Pacific Lutheran University’s Chris Knutzen Hall.

Dean Largent (Deer Park), Gary Knutzen (Skagit Valley CC), Dick Wooding (Highline CC), and Tom Sewell (Inglemoor) were inducted into the Hall of Fame as the Class of 2007. Virgil Burger of Long Beach was honored for his contributions with the Joe Babbitt Contributors Award.

 

The Class of 2006 included Jay Rydell (Central Valley), Ron Hudiburg (South Kitsap), Darrel White (Clover Park, Zillah, Warden), and John Wagner (Moses Lake). Ron Snow was honored with the Joe Babbitt Contributors Award.
The Class of 2005 included Mike Carr (Medical Lake), Paul Greeley (Bethel SD), and Mick Guglomo (Vashon Island ). Along with this outstanding group of coaches we honored the Mat Classic Scoreboard group of Dave Balkwill, Diane Beauchamp and Venne Beauchamp with the Joe Babbitt Contributors Award.
