Enumclaw High School 1970-1986

Shelly was the wrestling coach at Enumclaw High School for 17 years during which time his record was 211-64-2. As a strong contender at the state meet, Shelly produced three individual State Champions, 7 runner-ups, and 29 place winners. Among the five times when his Hornet team placed in the top ten, they had outstanding performances in 1976 (3rd place) and 1986 (5th place). After his retirement as wrestling coach, Shelly assumed the Athletic Director duties at Enumclaw High School.

Shelly has also served as the "AAA" State Tournament Director for Mat Classic, Washington's State Championship Wrestling Tournament and is currently the District Secretary for the WIAA district 3.
