| Clement
Senn was born February 10, 1908 in Odessa, Russia. He attended Lincoln
High School in Tacoma where he participated in football, basketball,
baseball and wrestling for four years. Clem graduated from Lincoln
in 1929 and then attended Washington State University graduating
in 1933. While wrestling at WSU Clem was a three-time Pacific Coast
Champion in 1931, 1932, and 1933 and never lost a match.
Clem first taught
at Tekoa High School from 1934-37. Clem started the wrestling program
at Sunnyside High School in 1962 and was a real pioneer for wrestling
in the Yakima Valley. Clem laid the foundation for what many have
considered historically the most outstanding "AA" program
in the state of Washington. In eight years as head coach at Sunnyside
Clem's teams never lost a Mid-Valley League match. He compiled a
dual meet record of 82 wins, 24 losses and 2 ties.
Clem and his
wife Alice now live in Kirkland and have four children; Sally, Ronald,
Donald and Sherrill.
Clem Senn enjoys
a reputation as a "True Gentleman of Prep Wrestling" in
the state of Washington. The Sunnyside High School Football Field
in named in his honor.
Coach Senn was
nominated by William Gant, principal of Sunnyside High School and
was inducted by Sunnyside Radio Station Sports Director Gary Staggers.
