Lyle Pugh started as an assistant coach under Eric Beardsley at Moses Lake High School. He was head coach there for one year while Eric was getting his Master's Degree. Lyle coached at Moses Lake for 5 years then moved to Spokane's Shadle Park High School in 1958. He was head coach until 1983, but remained as an assistant from 1984-1988. He has coached for 36 years. Coach Pugh was instrumental in starting the wrestling program in the Spokane area.
