| Mark Perry has been coaching wrestling for 27 years. He has coached at the kids, junior high and high school levels, as both a head coach and assistant coach. During 14 years as a head coach, his teams won five league titles with a dual record of 114-51-1, and won four regional championships. His teams finished in the top-10 in state five times. Perry coached 35 state placers and nine finalists. In 2001 Perry was selected as the 4A Coach of the Year and in 2002 was awarded the WIAA Sportsmen of the Year. In 2000 the WSWCA honored Perry with the Tomaras Award for his dedication to the sport.
Perry was involved in multiple aspect of the WSWCA as a Regional Rep, Treasurer, Cultural Exchange Director and Academic All-State Coordinator. In 1989 He helped implement the Academic All-State recognition program where wrestlers are recognized for their academic success. Perry lead the Cultural Exchange team to Japan in 1988 and has hosted teams from Japan, Poland, Australia and Russia. He has coached on the Washington’s freestyle and greco national teams and helps runs camps during the summers.
Since retiring as head coach at Snohomish, he has continued to be involved in the middle school program and helps SHS organize tournaments. He has managed the regional wrestling tournament nine times. Perry has been a head football coach for fifteen years. He was named the 2006 Snohomish School District Educator of the Year as well as numerous football honors.
