Kenichi Kanno had an illustrious career as a wrestler at Gray's Harbor and Central Washington University where he won the NAIA National title. He started his coaching career at Hoquiam Junior High School in 1973 and then became the head coach at Montesano High School in 1976, a position he held until his untimely death in March of 1991. Kenichi was known throughout the state as a great technician, but more importantly as a friend of kids.
