| Coach
Daniels was very instrumental in the early development of wrestling
in the state of Washington. His teams were always very competitive
and excelled at the state level. Coach Daniels developed Fife High
School into one of the state's most competitive programs at a time
when Fife was one of Washington's smallest schools competing in
wrestling. His teams won three league titles and, at a time when
schedules included twelve or fewer duals a season, had a string
of seventeen straight victories over a two year period. Rick Daniels
coached his wrestlers to 8 individual state titles and led his team
to a second place finish at state in 1955 behind Lincoln High School
of Tacoma. He is now deceased.
Rick Daniels
was inducted by Dallas Chestnut.
