referred to as "The Wrestling Legend of the Skagit Valley,"
Bo Campbell started his coaching career at Fife High School where
he coached in 1935-36 and won the Northwest A.A.U. team title held
at the University of Washington in 1936. He coached at Sedro Woolley
High School from 1948-1954 where he had six league champions and
won the title at the first State Wrestling meet held in Pullman
in 1953.
He moved to Burlington-Edison High School where he coached from
1954 to 1971 and placed in the top three in league for fourteen
of those seventeen years. He won the state title in 1959. "Bo"
finished second in the state in 1962 and placed fourth or better
in state competition for twelve of his seventeen years at Burlington-Edison.
He produced fifteen state champions and twenty-five state place
winners.
Bo Campbell
passed away in 1995.
Mr. Gary Knutzen, a long time wrestling official and Athletic Director
at Skagit Valley Community College inducted Coach Campbell.
