Carl Wenham has contributed a great deal to the promotion of wrestling Washington state. He has served as a coach, support staff at Mat Classic and as the Washington State USA Wrestling Chairman from 1990-1994. Carl served as a coach at Forks High School from 1978-1982, Quincy HS from 1982-1986 and Thomas Jefferson HS from 1987-1990.

Currently a teacher at Jefferson, Wenham served as the computer technician with the A/B Mat Classic Tournaments all twelve years, and is now the 1A/B Tournament Director. Wenham was instrumental in developing the computer brackets and internet seeding for Mat Classic. He has served as team leaders for six Cultural Exchange teams to Japan, China, Poland, Russia and South America. Carl attended Walla Walla High School and earned his teaching degree in 1976 from Central Washington University.
