Al Rasmussen

Al Rasmussen has been a reliable member of the announcing crew at Mat Classic for all 22 years of the event. He was a student at Lynnwood High School where Ed Aliverti was a counselor, and Aliverti encouraged Rasmussen to get involved in announcing. Rasmussen took over for Aliverti as the announcer at the Edmonds Invitational
Wrestling Tournament in 1978. Since that time he has worked many of the local, league and
regional wrestling tournaments in the WESCO league area.

Rasmussen has also been very active in other WIAA State events, He has been the lead
announcer at the WIAA Gridiron Classic State Football Championships the past 10 years as well as currently serving as the head announcer for the 3A and 4A WIAA State Basketball championships in the Tacoma Dome where he has announced state basketball the past 21 years. Additionally Rasmussen has been the announcer at the WIAA Kick-off Classic at Qwest Field the past 4 years.

Rasmussen will admirably fill the shoes of Ed Aliverti for years to come as the Voice of Wrestling in Washington State.
