Martin E. Fortin
Honored in 2003

Randle, Washington

 

Marty Fortin has served in many roles to help promote the sport of wrestling in Washington state. Most recently as a Mat Classic Tournament Co-Director. Fortin and his wife Susan run The Cispus Learning Center in Randle, Washington.

Marty coached at Rainier HS in 1991 and at Yelm Middle School for four years. He was also the Athletic Director at Yelm High School for eight years and was the AD in charge of wrestling in both the Pierce County and Black Hills leagues. He has served as tournament director for numerous events, including the state and regional tournaments. Fortin is one of a few people in the state to have participated in all fifteen Mat Classics.

Fortin is always ready to pitch in to help our sport, and this past year served on the committee to celebrate our Fifty Years of Washington Wrestling events.
