| Virgil Burger has been actively involved in wrestling as a wrestler, official, tournament manager and coach for over 50 years. Jim Bair describes Virgil as one of the “Old School Gentlemen” of wrestling. His constant positive comments to all wrestlers and coaches was heart warming. Burger coached at Evergreen HS and Ilwaco HS while serving as an official in the Lower Columbia association since 1991 to the present in both Washington and Oregon. He started the North Coast Officials Association in 1965 and ran the first Junior College Wrestling Championship Tournament for Washington and Oregon Colleges from 1965-67. Burger has officiated in 12 state tournaments. Virgil and Beverly reside in Long Beach, WA.
