WSWCA Individual Academic All-State Wrestling Team

The Washington State Wrestling Coaches Association sponsors the award for an Academic All-State Wrestling Team for each classification (4A-3A-2A-A-B-Girls). Be sure to complete the form, and identify your school’s classification. This form should be completed by Monday, February 6, 2012 (always the Monday prior to Regionals) by 3:00 pm.

To qualify for conisderation, candidates must:

1. be enrolled as a junior or senior,
2. have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (Sample---3.26),
3. be or going to be a varsity letterman,
4. have or will have competed in the District Tournament,
5. have a winning record.

Tie-Breaker Criteria

• The wrestler with the highest GPA will be honored,
• If a tie occurs, then the wrestler with the most wins will be honored,
• If a tie still remains, then the wrestler that advances furthest in the post-season tournaments will be honored.

***If there is a tie between 4.0 students, then they will all be honored. All wrestlers nominated by Monday, February 6, 2012 and meet the criteria, will receive an Honorable Mention Academic All-State Certificate in the state packet of information at the school’s classification table.
